Common Rooms and Function Spaces

In addition to our formal dining room, three comfortable indoor spaces of different sizes and a 2-acre outdoor lawn can be reserved separately or in combination for retreats, seminars, corporate and civic meetings, family and alumni reunions, weddings and other functions. Catering and audio-visual arrangements can be provided as well to help set the right tone and ambiance for your event.

Our 'Great Room' recalls Mystic Seaport in Mystic, Connecticut. It is a large room resembling an old New England tavern with a huge hearth, hand-hewn beams and a pickled pine ceiling. The Great Room encourages reading, playing chess or relaxing with friends and fellow travelers around the fireplace.

Our large, airy Sun Room overlooks spectacular sunsets, rolling lawns and distant hills. In season, it can be arranged with round or rectangular tables for small banquets, wedding dinners or meetings, or audience-style for classes, meetings or other events. French doors open directly onto the 2-acre terraced lawn with 16' gazebo. Together, the Sun Room, lawn and gazebo can be used in combination with a 40'x 60' tent to create a wonderful environment for your special event.

The elegant parlor, located in the main house adjacent to the dining room, can be used for private or expanded dining, afternoon tea, reading or just enjoying sunny mornings over coffee.
